Default Mixing skills

This is a noobish question, but I've never figured it out. Lets say i have factions and prophs. I look at builds that have skills from both. How, if possible, can I get skills from prophecies on my factions char in PvE? Thanks for the help.

either unlocking the skill, and learning it with a tome

or travelling to tyria and learning the skill from a tyrian skill trainer
(theres one in lions arch)

If you have beaten the campaign with any character on your account, you can learn any non-elite skills from that campaign from any skill-trainer on that continent. If you have not beaten the campaign, you will have to progress further into the campaign to reach the proper skill trainer for the skills you want.

Normal tomes allow you to learn any skill from any campaign that is already unlocked on your account. To unlock skills you can either learn them with any other character on your account, or spend Balthazar faction that you earn in PvP (arenas, gvg, alliance battles, etc). Normal skill unlock will cost 1,000 balth.

For elite skills, you have to use a [signet of capture] after killing the boss who has the skill, or use the appropriate elite tome to learn a skill you've already unlocked. As with normal skills, you may unlock an elite using balth, though it costs 3,000 balth for each elite.

of course all the games must be added to the same account to grant characters access to the skills.

That's not true. Just because you haven't beaten a campaign doesn't mean you can't buy skills from their trainers. And beating a campaign does not allow you to buy any skill from a certain campaign from any trainer in that campaign.

@TheodenKing and RPGmaniac:
Theoden is wrong, RPGmaniac is misunderstanding.

There is a skill trainer, practically at the end game which has *ALL* the skills of that campaign, regardless of your unlock status. It is there that you can learn any non-elite skill from that campaign (as well as all core).

If you haven't reached that outpost, then you have to rely on what the skill trainer teaches normally and what you've already unlocked.

@scotchild:
Head to the Prophecies game and learn the skills. OR unlock via Balthazar faction and use a tome. Both methods require that you have the two campaigns on your account.

As long as you have Prophecies and Factions on the same account, your characters are free to travel between the campaigns, once you get to Lion's Arch (Proph) or Kaineng Center (Factions). There, you can get simple quests that will unlock travel between them.
Once you can travel between the campaigns, it's just a matter of getting the skills in the usual ways.

You can also buy the skill unlock packs which will unlock all the skills from that campaign on any skill trainer. They are still campaign exclusive though, but with the skill unlocks you don't need to fight to different outposts to get the skills you want, you just need to go to the first you can get to with a skill trainer.

Yeah, like your guild hall, if there is a trainer there.

Actually, that's not quite right.
Skill trainers can only offer skills from their "local" campaign, and core skills.
Since guild halls are on the Battle Isles, that's a CORE location. Thus if your guild hall has a skill trainer, he'll only be able to offer core skills.

If your PvE characters want skills from a specific campaign, you have to find a skill trainer (or appropriate skill-quest) on that continent. Each trainer has a selection of skills they can teach, and one trainer near the end of each campaign will have the full list of skills from that campaign. If you have unlocked a skill (with Balthazar faction or on another character) any skill trainer can teach it to you, IF that skill is from their campaign. Dakk in Ember Light Camp knows every skill in Prophecies, but he still can't teach your Warriors how to do a Silverwing Slash. Michiko in Kaineng Center can, but if you ask her about Galrath Slash, she'll just look at you funny.

Of course, you can't learn Elite skills from the trainers. You'll just have to buy a Signet of Capture from them, and go hunt the appropriate boss.

if you're interested Dakk in Ember Light Camp (Proph), Zenaida in the Harvest Temple (Factions), and the Zendhet in the Gate of Torment (NF) are the people and places that have the trainers for all non-elite skills in their respective campaigns
